Baby hiccups during pregnancy

Baby hiccups in the womb are normal and easily observed on an ultrasound. Fetal hiccups only last for a few minutes and go away on their own. Do you know that you can feel your baby hiccuping?

What hiccups in the womb feel like?

You will feel some rhythmic and small movements.👶 You may find it difficult to distinguish baby kicks and hiccups at the beginning but gradually you’ll notice that your little baby hiccups several times a day.😃 Fetal movements are more easily detectable between 16 and 22 weeks.

Why do babies hiccup?

The true reason why your baby is hiccuping is unknown.🤔 The amniotic fluid reaches up to 26 ounces in the womb by mid-pregnancy. It is suggested that the pressure of the fluid makes the baby hiccup and swallow the excess. Hence, your baby is probably pushing out excess air out of the tummy.😃 To be certain about the baby’s health, you should have regular checkups with your doctor.👩‍⚕️
