The Bradley Method of childbirth is designed for you if you want to have a natural birth with minimal medical interventions.🤗 Small classes dedicated to you and your partner will cover relaxation techniques and nutrition requirements that you need for a natural birth.


What is the Bradley Method for childbirth?

The Bradley Method for childbirth invented by Dr. Bradley embraces the idea that the vast majority of women🤰can give birth without drugs or intervention and the role of your partner👨‍👧 as a labor coach is extremely critical in terms of helping mommies give birth. You often start the program in your fifth month of pregnancy and it lasts for 12 weeks.


What you are provided with in the Bradley Method

🤰Dark and dim lighting

You are suggested to give birth in a dim lighting environment💡🕶️ to be in a relaxed state. The more you can relax, the easier it becomes for you to give birth without being in tremendous pain.

🤰Relative solitude

A group of people with the closest relationship👩‍👩‍👦 to you can stay in the labor room and become your advocate while distant relatives such as mother-in-law or extended family do not need to be present. You feel safe and more relaxed when you’re surrounded by people whom you’re most familiar with.😃 

🤰Comfort

Giving birth is already the biggest burden that you have to pay attention to when you’re in the labor room. You need to be completely comfortable and free from other unnecessary stress.🙂 If you’re hot, someone should get you a fan. If you’re cold, someone would give you socks immediately. Hence, you can concentrate and save energy for labor.🥰 

🤰Familiarity

Being in a strange environment triggers anxiety, scare and awareness, causing labor to stall and be more difficult.😟 You can take a few tours of the facility and the labor room to be familiar with everything before actual birth. 

🤰Sense of safety

You need to feel safe and secured to be able to relax completely in the labor room. You will feel more protected and gain that sense of safety when you know someone is taking care of you, guarding and catering to you.😊

🤰Confidence

Take a leap of faith. You have to believe that your body is capable of giving birth without medication intervention to be able to succeed doing so.💪 Self-doubt and concern naturally imposter on you especially when the due date is coming, hence, your partner and the labor coach’s job is to reassure you that everything is going to be fine and you can overcome this final stage of pregnancy.😃

🤰Physical relaxation

Physical relaxation is one of the most important parts in the Bradley Method.🤗 You have to be in the most comfortable and relaxing position so that you can relax your body and get in sync with your baby during labor. Tension only causes labor pains to get worse.🙅‍♀️ 

🤰Controlled breathing

The method encourages you to focus on calm breathing👃and feel your inside rhythm.👀 Controlled breathing doesn’t mean you have to distract yourself from the labor pains but it emphasizes on pain management. Similar to sleep-breathing, it makes you relax and sets you free to “tune-in” and focus inward.🤗   

🤰Relaxation

When the labor gets intense, you will learn to control your body in a relaxed state as if you were actually sleeping.😴 You remain calm and focused because you know that you are safe and taken care of by people who are staying right beside you in the labor room.


What you learn in the Bradley Method

In the Bradley Method, you will learn nutrition requirements for your body and the fetus.😋 You also learn about the importance of exercises during pregnancy, common symptoms and how to cope with them, relaxation techniques such as controlled breathing.🚶 The stages of labor and how to deal with changes in your body, information about medical interventions if needed and how to avoid unnecessary ones, ways to reduce the risk of C-section, birth plans, breastfeeding are all provided in your 12-week program in the third trimester.🧑‍🏫
